Officially 30 years old today. Seeing as COVID put a pause on the plans I arranged, the last couple days I’ve been scouring reputable medical sites, finding information about how long isolation needs to be. Long story short, the CDC website said I should be isolating until the 12th. I felt the same way that I do when the weatherperson gives forecast that I don’t particularly agree with/like what they say – “I respect your expertise but F you, that sucks!” So, I yet again start the search for something new that I can experience from home.
When I saw House of Gucci come out into theaters, similar to the movie’s critics, I had mixed feelings about it. It has an all star cast of Adam Driver, Lady Gaga, Jared Leto, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino, who are all amazing actors on their own. But the movie didn’t seem to have much life to it, it seemed very stagnant. Lady Gaga told the media that she went full method acting as Patrizia Reggiani for 9 months and studied the expression of tigers for this role. While that shows real dedication for this role, it’s also very strange to imagine. Just picture it: Lady Gaga out with friends in New York (because that’s where the trashy tabloids say she mostly lives) with an Italian ish accent, intense stare, 80’s hair and dress. Actually, in New York City that isn’t strange. That’s almost the norm.
Now, about the movie itself. I’ll try not to give any spoilers while talking about the movie. Overall, it was a little slow moving and wouldn’t recommend as a need to watch. The storyline was interesting and I did Google more about it. Did I think it needed to be a movie that was almost 3 hours? No. I think it would have been better as a series, like on American Crime Story. If you like the whole creepy crime biopic genre, I would definitely recommend American Crime Story. It’s the same creators as American Horror Story.
