Day 5 – The Eagle’s Nest Food & Smoothie Cafe

My plan for today was to go to the Van Gogh Immersive Art Experience in the city. As many of us know, life gets in the way šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

I found this place on a Groupon. After looking everywhere for “Long Island Smoothie Cafe”, I found “The Eagle’s Nest” at the address given. Turns out, it’s the same place. The cafe is under new ownership and going through an upgrade!

I walked in around 5:30/6 pm, right before dinner, so I wasn’t surprised that most people were getting dinner while I was looking for a smoothie. This was good for me because it gave the owner and I time to talk. The owner, Mike, is an EMT with lots of knowledge about the body and holistic/natural alternatives to help the body. I came with an order in my hand and a mask on my face. I am the type of person who wears a mask in all indoor areas. Whatever the arguments against it may be, I do it to feel safer for myself and for my loved ones. The first thing we talked about was his types of smoothies. I had looked up the menu before coming in (as one does in this age) so I was prepared. The order in my hand said to get an “O My AƧaĆ” powerful smoothie for my mom, a “Chocolate Strawberry” tasty smoothie for my dad, and several berry smoothies that I had my eye on for myself. Mike was very helpful in figuring this out! We had a chat about health and wellness, and what flavors are beneficial for what parts of the body. I learned a lot!

Day 5 āœ…ļø

The menu had something for everyone, and plenty of substitute milk options. I’m often the person who has to remove items (banana) to make my own version of a smoothie on the menu – thankfully, that’s no problem here.

I did not try the food at this visit, but I plan to come back to do so. The options are endless. There’s something healthy and delicious for everyone at this cafe – keto, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and other proteins.
